ASMOSIA’s mission is to promote the exchange among its members in all fields related to the study of marble and other stones of art historical or archaeological interest. This exchange is accomplished through electronic communications, biannual meetings of the membership, and publication of the meeting proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loss in the ASMOSIA family<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our ASMOSIA family member, Katja Marasovi\u0107, on the morning of 25 February 2026. Katja was an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, University of Split, Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She took the effort and responsibility as Chair of the Organizing Committee for the ASMOSIA XI Conference, held in Split from 18\u201322 May 2015, an event of which we all retain the fondest memories. Following the conference, she dedicated great effort to the preparation of the Proceedings, overseeing the fundraising, editing, publication, and distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katja was an active member of the ASMOSIA Executive Committee and an open, warm, and gracious person. Her commitment, generosity, and spirit were a great asset to ASMOSIA. We will remember her fondly and keep her memory alive within our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Committee of ASMOSIA expresses its deepest sympathy to her family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASMOSIA XIV <\/strong>

The 14th International Conference of the Association for the Study of Marble and Other Stones in Antiquity was held from Monday 15th until Friday 19th September 2025<\/strong> in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The main conference venue was at the Faculty of Law, Poljanski nasip 2, in the city centre of Ljubljana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
